Welcome to the Northwest Connecticut Human Resources Association

I love the Summer, but the Fall… Apple Crisp & Apple Cider says it all.

2023 has been a great year at NW Connecticut Human Resources Association.  As we head into the 4th Quarter, I am reminded of how busy this year has been, Tri-State Conference, SHRM Conference, Certifications, and Seminars.

This year, we have held 4 Seminars, 2 Professional Networking/Mixer Events, we took a break for the summer, and we are going into 4th Quarter – STRONG!

Our next seminar is on Tuesday, September 12th with Attorney Vincent Farisello of Carmody Law to present Legal Updates.  The seating is limited to 20 participants.  Learn about the recent changes in CT.

Thursday, September 28th, we are hosting a Professional Networking / Mixer event at the Torte Museum in Winsted.  We will have refreshments and Hors d’oeuvres.   Our newest member of the Board, Michelle Ferreri, VP DEI, will present a thought-provoking seminar on DEI.  Bring a Colleague!

Thursday, October 12th, we welcome back Attorney Mike Spagnola for a seminar on Harassment & Discrimination at the Bad Dog Brewery.  Mike’s events are always well attended.  Afterwards, we will host a Professional Networking/Mixer with Pizza and Refreshments.

Thursday, November 2nd, Celeste Barrows is presenting a seminar on DISC.  The self-assessment tools are designed for use in personnel management in businesses. A DISC assessment helps to identify workstyle preferences, determines how someone would interact with others, and provides insight on work habits.

If you attend the Tri-State Conference, you know how awesome Mark Altman of MindsetGo is!  A Conversational Intelligence company using Emotional Intelligence and Multi-generational Intelligence to strengthen, grow and develop relationships.

We love our Holiday Parties!  This year, we are hosting our Holiday Party on Thursday, December 7th.  Be on the lookout for your invitation from our newest Board Member Adam Seifert, VP Membership.

We will finish the year with a seminar on SHRM Certification on Tuesday, December 12th.

I hope to see everyone at all our events. https://nwcthra.shrm.org/events
